I’m sure you’ve seen this since it was on the Make Magazine blog, but this solar pendulum seems like it would make a great project for a Make::DC meeting. Cheap components (particularly if the solar panel is kept optional), not that much soldering and a neat effect.

That looks like a great proect. I’m putting it in the mental pipeline. I’d love to see Make:DC using more scrap and salvaged materials in our projects.
